Our client has a vacancy for a Legal Secretary to work within Plot Sales. The plot sales team deals with the legal aspects of plot sales for clients, including planning, development, investment, construction, litigation and dealing with both landlord and tenant matters. The team regularly acts on behalf of some of the UK’s biggest house builders.

The role:

You will work as part of a team to provide secretarial and administrative support to help legal teams deliver great service to clients.

Your key duties will be:

providing an effective organisational and administrative support service to a busy team of fee earners who specialise in acting for large PLC developer clients
assisting with the processing of land registry forms and other legal documentation
assisting with the issue of contract packs to solicitors
attending to clients and other solicitors on the telephone, taking messages and assisting generally with the conveyancing process
producing accurate documents and overseeing the case management system (training will be provided)
assisting with monthly billing and other related financial administration
opening and closing of electronic files
using a case management system to process and progress cases
taking telephone calls and messages, handling queries and enquiries
archiving, storage and retrieval of documentation (electronic and paper versions)
typing documents and correspondence
processing incoming and outgoing post and arranging couriers
general administrative tasks including; photocopying, filing, printing and archiving

Skills and experience you will have:

ideally 6 months legal secretarial experience gained within a real estate team
experience of inputting SDLT, carrying out searches and Land Registry applications
a minimum grade C pass at GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
confidence with IT systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel and ideally PowerPoint
