Our client are seeking an Import / Export Office Coordinator to join their team based in the West Midlands.

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary: £15,000 - £21,000 per annum + attractive benefits package including private healthcare, defined pension, life cover & much more.

Hours: Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm (37.5 hours)

Based at their head office outside Birmingham, the Import / Export Office Coordinator will build and maintain relationships with overseas partners, with a view to improving volumes, payloads and profitability. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further their career in freight forwarding.

Their planning office is at the heart of their European road freight operation. You are responsible for planning the most efficient loads whilst working with and meeting the expectations of clients and partners.

Import / Export Office Coordinator - Key responsibilities

- Liaising with overseas partners, suppliers & internal client facing colleagues

- Planning and completing Import loads

- Communicating with overseas agents as per requirements, updating them and solving problems that arise

- Receiving and checking relevant import documentation

- Passing purchase invoices and dealing with any queries

Experience or knowledge of European import / export is essential. Ideally, the Import / Export Office Coordinator will also be aware of other hauliers and their market rates as well as experience working in a planning environment, however full training will be given. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to show initiative. Good communication and computer skills are a must, together with a confident, helpful disposition, keen attention to detail and a flexible approach to work.

In order to be suitable for this role, you may have previous experience as an Import Office Coordinator, Planning Officer, Export Administrator, Logistics Assistant, Freight Controller, Freight Forwarding.
