ISS are one of the world’s leading service organisations and we are now actively recruiting for an Engineering Optimisation and Planning Manager for out Stoke on Trent Technical Service Centre.

The overall purpose of this role is to ensure that we have enough engineering resources with the right skills in the right locations to meet the demands of our current and new customers.

This role is responsible for identifying fundamental asset management and planning issues, bringing rigorous analytical thinking in to the business that will help the business operate more smoothly.

A cornerstone of the ISS Technical Services business model is the effective planning and utilisation of our Field Force Engineers.

The efficacy with which we use the engineering resources influences our delivery costs and timescales, having a direct impact on our competitiveness, customer service and capability.

Modelling techniques will be required that will empower our work winning team with a more accurate toolset, enabling greater certainty around pricing and potentially improve our competitiveness and service delivery, which supports ISS in its goal to be the world’s greatest service organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will be tasked with maximising our asset management & planning reporting & analytics capability as well as the leadership of data & asset management for all field engineers through the ownership of existing software including IFS 360 and WISE along with real time engagement on Maximo data and other ISS & customer platforms as appropriate.

PPM optimisation through smarter bundling, activity reduction and continued assessment of workload.

Engagement with the Technical Asset services team to help facilitate the implementation of best practice.

Business insight across multiple delivery streams through consistency of taxonomy.

The job will involve leading and influencing strategic discussions by presenting new ideas, analysis and insights at senior levels, for example at ISS senior Team meetings or larger gatherings of managers across the organisation.

Applications are invited from individuals who have previous experience in a similar role within FM, building services, mobile engineering or similar.


Engineering qualification e.g. ONC / HNC, degree level or equivalent.

Experience of data modelling tools and techniques.

Experience of CAFM systems, ideally Maximo, and other IBM tools.

Experience of working within a multi-stakeholder maintenance environment.

Experience of producing Management information reporting.


Data analytical experience with advanced Excel skills.

Engineering / maintenance experience.
