EB4717 Operations Assistant

Salary: £21,000 DOE
Location: Burton Upon Trent

Position: Permanent

Hours of Work: 40 hrs a week plus overtime

Our Client who is one of the leading companies within the Rail Industry are looking for an Operations Assistant to have day to day co-ordination and control of all logistic functions their base in Burton Upon Trent. The Operations Assistant must ideally hold a current experience within engineering logistics and would ideally have at least 1 years’ experience within the rail industry, but this is non-essential.

The role of Operations Assistant role comes with a salary of £21K and this is dependent on experience. The Operations Assistant must be very good at Team Work, be self-reliant and very customer focused.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise stores KPI’s and reports
  • Arrange production priority paperwork
  • Prioritise pick lists
  • Maintain Bill of material list and create pick lists
  • Customer liaison
  • Monitor dispatch paperwork for accuracy
  • Monitor CoG stock levels
  • Deputise for the Material controller/Store person
  • Manage TNT account (pending decision on printer)
  • Provide technical support to internal customers

Duties include:

  • Liaising with the procurement team to ensure that all stock requirements are met
  • Ensuring all stock is stored in the correct location
  • Manage daily cycle count
  • Assisting with stock checks
  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to H&S rules and regulations
  • Ensuring cleanliness and good housekeeping is maintained in and around the stores
  • Provide sales production
  • Booking in customer owned property
  • Monitor daily stock shortages and expedite resolutions

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Hands on materials/stores experience ideally in Engineering or Manufacturing
  • A well organised and structured approach to record keeping
  • Strong IT skills including presentations
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a demanding production environment
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships
