Our client is a leading provider of Information Management Services and Solutions which maximise the utility of data and provide decision making insight across enterprise, asset and service lifecycles predominantly within the Defence, Energy and Utility industry sectors.

Due to continued growth they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Business & Systems Analyst to join their Midlands based Development and Delivery Team. The Business & Systems Analyst will be responsible for using appropriate Analytical tools and techniques to investigate and analyse business problems and new system capability requirements.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Eliciting and defining Customer requirements, detailed system requirements, restrictions and evaluating technical solutions
  • Solution implementation and change facilitation
  • Supporting programmes for continuous improvement to process and in-service system solutions
  • Producing documentation to support analysis, modelling, system design, data migration and integration
  • Working closely with colleagues including project managers, stakeholders, software developers and account managers to deliver projects successfully
Successful candidates should be able to meet the following skills and experience requirements:

  • Educated to degree level, or hold equivalent professional experience
  • Comprehensive and practical experience of the full system development lifecycle - waterfall, agile, spiral etc.
  • Strong and extensive experience in SQL Querying
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with a strong technical background
  • An understanding of application architecture – concepts of re-use, separation of layers (UI, logic, data access), conversational vs stateless, etc.
  • Experience of entity relationship modelling, data modelling (normalisation) and physical database design
  • Experience of root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Knowledge of Business Process Management Software would be extremely beneficial.
  • BCS Foundation or Practitioner in Business/Systems Analysis would be extremely beneficial
