Health & Safety Manager
Are you an experienced multisite Health & Safety Manager from a challenging frontline environment who is passionate about high standards? Have you a formal qualification in occupational health and safety - NEBOSH Diploma?

As Health & Safety Manager you will ensure the business is complying with its legal obligations in providing safe environments for our employees, customers and visitors. Ensuring that the management teams understand their Health, Safety and Wellbeing responsibilities and supporting the business through provision of training, guidance and support. Providing the professional support to achieve the relevant Health & Safety standards, including accredited certification, throughout the business at all times.
So what will the role involve?
As a Health & Safety Manager:
Adherence to the H&S management system (OHSAS 18001 or other) and supporting the business to ensure the client maintains certification through key processes, including formal auditing
Provide consultancy to site responsible employees (to include H&S champions), providing ongoing
Lead on & support the provision & plans of a consistent approach to Health, Safety & Wellbeing induction & training across the business
Work alongside Compliance and Quality functions to ensure H&S practises are built into standard operating procedures
Logging and tracking all key H&S data/information, including incidents, near misses, requests etc
Creation of management information and reports for all H&S KPIs, for board reporting purposes
Create schedules and ensure audits and inspections are carried out in line with H&S system requirements to include sites and supply chain partners
Maintain an accident reporting mechanism that focusses on future
Review sub-contractor H&S policies and procedures and arrange a site inspection as required
Perform audits of new and existing supply chain partners and subcontractors in covering all sites
What qualities will you need to be successful as Health & Safety Manager?
Formal qualification in occupational health and safety (NEBOSH Diploma, or its equivalent, as a minimum)
Professional Membership of a Health & Safety recognised organisation such as IOSH (CMIOSH, TechIOSH,GradIOSH)
Experience in advising on professional Health & Safety issues in a large, multi-site complex organisation
Good understanding and experience of OHSAS 18001 and/or other H&S industry recognised standards
Experience of undertaking Health & Safety audits to the OHSAS 18001 standard
The client is offering a salary of up to £40,000 + Package including 40p per mile. The role is national but mainly based in West Midlands.
