Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Position Description:

Lead Engineer / PMST Leader for Row 2 and Row 3 Seating structures.

Skills Required:

1) Proven Project management capability within seat structures or similar complex kinematic structure demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
2) Excellent communications skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels up to vehicle line director.
3)PC Literacy - CAD Design, Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc.

Experience Required:

Successful history of project management delivery of a complex mechanical structure with kinematic interactions. Must have knowledge of kinematic design, electromechanical systems and ideally seating structures.

Experience Preferred:

Engineering knowledge of designing seating or seating structures, their function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements. Knowledge of BIW also beneficial. CAD Literacy - ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools. Ability to generate CAD data in Catia v5 would be an advantage. Significant experience in use of engineering tools - FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution etc. Any person supplied should have a valid UK driving licence and meet the medical requirements of J&LR facilities. Working knowledge of project delivery processes - GPDS / FPDS / PRINCE2 or similar. Working knowledge of change management processes.

Additional Information:

Ideal candidate would be able to manage a programme from concept and Job 1 plus 90 days, taking complete responsibility for all aspects of the seating structure from early concept design, supplier selection, commercial control, releasing, design verification issues management and in plan support as needed. Although design of detailed components will be done by a supplier, engineering specification and critique of the design will be a major part of the job.
