To be successful in your application you must be an enthusiastic graduate of a mathematics based degree who has earned at least a 2:2 and has the ability to clearly outline your reasons and interests in becoming a teacher. You will arrive with an infectious enthusiasm that will encourage your students to develop a genuine love for learning and education.
As a Maths Teaching Assistant your role will involve you joining the schools successful maths department where you will be progressing your abilities by working closely with a mentor Class Teacher who will tutor you through the academic year, preparing you for a successful career. Your responsibilities will include identifying and supporting gifted or struggling pupils in 1:1 sessions or intervention groups. You will gain excellent lesson planning skills as you work closely with the class teacher in helping to devise a lesson that is accessible to pupils of all abilities.
