Finance Business Partner - Drive Operational Performance

Telford

£40-50,000 + Good Pension + BUPA + 10% Bonus + Generous Holidays

The Opportunity:

The role of Business Partner focuses on understanding the business and its drivers, what needs to be accomplished, planning action to deliver goals, getting the right people to the discussion table and achieving focus from the stakeholders in driving these actions through to completion.

Your personal work culture and aptitude is as important, if not more so, than your historical experience. Your first responsibility is to support the development of a team culture which is professional, cares about meeting deadlines, is well-organised, has a "can do" attitude, is single-minded in its desire to deliver high quality outputs and is confident in taking positive action to overcome challenges and drive cost efficiencies.

You will need to take real ownership of your remit to provide business decision support and partnering, MI and business planning. The immediate challenge you face in this role is to develop and deliver relevant, high quality MI to your stakeholders which addresses their individual needs. Whilst you will be supported by a pool of finance analysts in delivering analysis, reporting and forecasts, you still need to be pretty hands-on which means having the ability to use Excel efficiently when transforming data into usable MI. In addition to the proactive management of the business as usual cost base, the organisation’s acquisitive nature means you may be faced with other questions such as what changes to the business would be required to support a major acquisition?

What we are looking for:

  • Preferably a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • A passion for influencing operational outcomes and business performance.
  • A demonstrated track record in proactively supporting good financial and cost management.
  • A positive, resilient, organised and energetic character who is passionate about delivering a high quality output.
  • The ability to communicate confidently and concisely in a way with engages the audience and achieves buy-in.
