The Role: Our client seeks a key technical specialist within a growing team which is being developed in order to electrify the propulsion systems on various machines / vehicles.
In the first instance the role is to provide expert guidance in the specification and selection of motors for an extensive range of applications - both traction and hydraulic system propulsion. This will involve comparing and assessing the characteristics of motors available in the market. It is expected that in time there will be opportunity to deal with the design of motors working towards bespoke machines.
The team will be deployed on a range of differing machines, types, sizes and power ratings. The products are purpose designed for off-highway operation - construction, agriculture and material handling. There is much variety in the job, and it is a dynamic working environment.
Experience: Engineering degree with a sound understanding of latest technology around electric motors, considering electromagnetic aspects, performance and cooling especially.
The position may well suit a specialist who has been working on a specific aspect of motor design; yet it is critical that there is a robust technical understanding of electrical engineering in general.
Whilst having a robust technical understanding on the core specialism, having excellent communications skills and being a good team player is essential.
Basic Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary/Rate: £35000 - £45000, possibly up to £50000 for highly experienced Electric Motor Engineer
