Reports into Head of Data and Insight

New role to Halfords

•Lead the identification, collection, analysis and communication of digital data to the business, including website (mobile and desktop) and mobile app performance metrics
•Support the digital team and wider business with the set-up of detailed reporting of key digital metrics, including regular reporting, short and long term forecasts and actionable next step recommendations
•Enable data led investment and development decisions by providing actionable insight from relevant digital data
•Ensure best practice implementation of analytics, trialling new tools in line with developing business requirements
•Line management responsibility for an expanding team

You will:
•Design, set up and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor and improve digital performance, and explain insights to key stakeholders around the business
•Provide relevant data and insight to support long term investment decisions based on sound and relevant digital data and metrics
•Analyse web & app analytics, and measure strategic initiatives to provide understanding of performance versus targets and controls
•Ensure the team is focused on extracting insights and investigating/understanding the causes of changes in key metrics, as well as efficient and effective data collation tools and processes
•Maintain a high level of awareness of key metrics required by the digital function, how these are changing and which ones to prioritise for in depth analysis
•Remain aware of status of objectives and key issues across the teams to inform where additional focus or attention is required to help improve performance
•Manage relevant digital data partners/suppliers that are providing a service to ensure it delivers against expectations
•Build strong working relationships with the eCommerce, Digital Product, Digital Experience and Portfolio teams

Your experience
•Excellent analytical & financial modelling skills – demonstrable success in delivering real-time insight that is actionable and drives revenue, churn, margin improvement
•Track record of distilling complex information into compelling visualisations and reports
•Clear view on KPIs and what success looks like
•Ability to manage multiple partners, prioritise and deliver to tight deadlines
•Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•Highly numerate and accustomed to problem solving

Your skills and qualifications
•A degree or equivalent in a science or quantitative subject
• 4 years + relevant work experience including web analytics, statistical tools, visualisation, databases scripting/coding: for example, Google Analytics, Qubit, SQL, BigQuery, R, SAS, Python, Tableau or equivalents
•Superior written and oral communication skills
•Good attention to detail and takes responsibility for the accuracy of their work
•Previous line management experience
