The Client:

The Role:

Oversee the planning, control and utilisation of key engineering project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop new product introduction programs in accordance with the organisation’s objectives and ensure that these are delivered on time and to budget.

+ Control of all Engineering resource within the Integrated Project Team during new product development.

+ Working with Product Management to develop realistic New Product Goals.

+Working closely with the R & D group foe timely introduction of new technologies.

+ Transition of new products from the design phase into main factory production.

+ Contribute to the development of business strategy and plans.

+ Maintain awareness of current market, economic and technology trends to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.

+ Manage the Engineering project budget to ensure spending does not exceed forecast.

+ In conjunction with senior management team contribute to identifying alternative markets and adjacent space opportunities to extend the product portfolio’s market reach. Manage the design process during the initial concept in R&D, through the development process, prototype build and eventual product launch.

+ Participate, contribute and review the design to technically influence the product to ensure it is fit for purpose and of the correct quality.

+ Control the specification of the product through Design Review, Validation, Verification meetings.

+ Communicate to Senior Management through Project Reviews, or other means, updates and snapshots of the Project including highlighting issues in a timely manner.

+ Manage the following aspects of the Project:

- Project plan

- Product requirements and specification

- Test procedures and work instructions

- Product manuals and test reports

- Configuration control through Agile

+ Work with the Physics team along with mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineers to bring the products to production on time and in budget.

+ Work with the Configuration Management Team ensuring all BoM’s are prepared and up to date prior to the launch of the product.

+ Provide feedback to Product Management regarding the status and expected delivery of products to the market along with specifications and expected budgets.

Job Qualifications:

+ Knowledge of a broad range of engineering disciplines.

+ Flexibility to respond to changing business needs.

+ Willingness to travel with good presentation skills.

+ Demonstrated experience of successfully leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team

+ Strong project and people management skills

+ Technical degree (ideally electrical/electronic engineering) and preferred Chartered Engineer (CEng) status

Salary:

Up to £65,000 plus benefits
