Location: Birmingham

Salary: £40-£70K DOE + Attractive benefits

Key responsibilities:

  • Understanding the client’s requirements, the environment of the project and its relationship to the utilities affected or required.
  • The development and execution of strategies in agreement with the client to manage and deliver best value in a timely fashion
  • Interfacing with the project team and utility companies to provide advice and develop preferred solutions. This will require relationships with key utilities stakeholders to be established and managed.
  • Use of databases and experience as a benchmark to validate delivery costs and input into budgets/cost plans
  • Recommending models for procurement of design and delivery
  • Strategic planning and production of graphical visualization of the delivery process for ease of communication (programmes/flow charts/timescale/etc.).

Skills and experience required:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in one or more of the various statutory utilities.
  • Experience in the appraisal, feasibility studies, concept / front end engineering design and planning of large scale, high profile building and infrastructure projects and programmes. These projects or programmes will have been challenging from a size, scale, multiple site, multi-disciplinary or stakeholderperspective.
  • Proven experience working in the construction/utilities sector and managing projects
  • Self-motivated, and able of working under own direction in pressured construction environment
  • Strong negotiating skills is essential
  • An understanding of procurement opportunities to deliver contestable works
  • Able to lead teams and chairmeetings
  • Recognized professional qualification in Project/Programme Management, or Construction
  • M&E Management is desirable, although HNC equivalent with appropriate experience will also suffice.
