What you’ll do

From your home office, you’ll answer calls from existing customers and those who don’t yet have cover about their roadside breakdowns. Providing seamless solutions to customer problems, and answering their queries across a broad variety of issues, you’ll ensure they get the help they need. You might be at home but you won’t be alone. When you need support or more information to make sure the customer ends up happy, you’ll simply get in touch with an AA team or one of our external business partners. Thanks to you, we’ll remain the world’s most loved motoring service.

What it takes

Most importantly, you’ll have experience of providing great customer service - but this doesn’t need to be on the phone. Bring a passion for learning to the table and we’ll provide all the training you need. What matters most is your commitment to leaving every caller with a smile on their face. You’ll bring to the role incredible communication skills and determination to solve every challenge.

There are some practical requirements, too. You’ll need to live within 60 minutes of an AA site, and to have a dedicated room that you can use for calls. This should be at least 11 cubic metres in size. You must pay your electricity by bill, and have broadband speed of 2mpbs or more. If you rent, you must have your landlord’s permission to do this work from home. We’ll carry out a home assessment to make sure it’s all going to work out.

We will expect you to work a 5 out of 7 shift pattern, which will include some Bank Holidays. You should be available for up to 200 hours of standby in addition to your 1885 annualised hours. If we ask you to work during a standby period, we’ll pay an overtime rate to say thank you.
