Key Responsibilities

  1. Scheduled Checks
    1. Perform regular checks of IT systems, such as:
      1. Check that backups have completed.
      2. Check that leavers have been correctly disabled in Active Directory and other software systems.
  • Check that admin group membership has not been modified.
  1. Check Antivirus servers to detect any issues.
  1. Monitoring and Administration
    1. Assist with management and continuous improvement of the monitoring and alerting systems.
    2. Investigate alerts generated by the monitoring systems.
    3. Provide Incident Management to ensure incidents are resolved in a timely manner and that all relevant communications have been provided.
    4. Assist in the Root Cause Analysis process to ensure Root Causes are correctly identified and that the correct Actions are followed through to prevent re-occurrence.
    5. Raise Work Orders for other IT departments when work is required during an Incident and when work is required as part of an RCA Action.
    6. Manage the WSUS server and schedule deployment of Microsoft updates.
  1. Capacity / Management Intelligence / Reporting
    1. Provide regular reports on server capacity.
    2. Monitor server capacity and predict future requirements.
    3. Assist with the creation and management of automated reports, including:
      1. SLA reporting, for internal and client use.
      2. Incident Management Metrics reporting.
  1. Documentation and Evidence
    1. Liaise with Internal Audit department for provision of any information required for audits.
    2. Liaise with Permanent Control department to provide any information required for Level 2 checks.
    3. Liaise with other departments when required, representing the IT department in a professional manner, in line with our company values.
    4. Assist with the management and creation of the SharePoint lists and workflows used by the RCA system.
    5. Centralise all IT documentation and ensure that all documents are reviewed at the required intervals.
    6. Maintain the Hardware and Software Asset Management systems. Ensure that contracts and licensing is applied correctly, maintained up to date and renewed in good time.
