Job Location: West Midlands

Job Position: Principal Chassis Engineer - Suspension Systems

The Role: Develop and deliver a suspension system from initial concept to production, including technical leadership of agreed project deliverables
Ensure all deliverables are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner whilst promoting a task delivery approach within the team
Cascade vehicle level ride and handling attribute targets to the chassis project team
Produce design solutions that meet customer attribute targets for ride & handling, durability, NVH, homologation, etc.
Coordinate design and analysis tasks to support the successful delivery of the suspension system
Plan and manage system/component test and validation activities
Effectively manage tier 1 suppliers to develop component specific targets which meet all programme and technical requirements
Support cross functional working with other divisions to effectively utilise shared resources across the business

The Ideal
Candidate: Have a broad range of suspension system experience in passenger cars & off-road vehicles (SUV's, military)
Have a degree in an Engineering or Science related discipline
Possess a high standard of technical knowledge regarding chassis systems/components with significant emphasis on suspension systems.
Have proven experience within an automotive or military engineering background, with a number of years leading teams to successfully deliver projects within an OEM, Tier 1 or consultancy environment
Have the ability to plan and deliver projects within budget to an agreed timescale
Have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop a team and to coach junior engineers

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Company Benefits
