Retail Property Project Manager

Midlands and North West England

£35 - 37,000 + £4800 Car Allowance, Bonus & Benefits

The Company

A business with a long and rich heritage this retailer of all things garden and home related has invested heavily in store refurbishment, acquisition and organic expansion and is one of the best known businesses in its sector. As part of the ongoing growth and development of the business they are now looking to recruit a Property Project Manager to further augment the Head Office property team.

The Role

Reporting to the Retail Property Director the role assumes day to day responsibility for a broad range of capital projects from general maintenance and repair works through to major redevelopment, site remods and refits. Working alongside Field Operations and a range of internal stakeholders the Property Project Manager will develop design briefs for each project before managing through to satisfactory completion within budget. Field based the role has a considerable level of autonomy and presents a real opportunity to play a key part in this business as it looks to bring its retail estate up to date. Many of the company’s sites are due extensive re-modernisation in the coming years and this position is integral to ensuring that individual projects are carried out in a timely and cost effective manner whilst confirming to the latest regulatory framework.

The Candidate

The role will appeal to highly organised project managers who are comfortable working under their own initiative. Being based predominantly in the field gives the role a high degree of freedom but requires an individual able to prioritise an often complex workload with many projects requiring equal attention at the same time. It’s also a role crucial to the businesses medium and long term plans, particularly with so much invested in the successful role out of an already tested new store format. Obviously this position requires an individual with a working understanding of current relevant Health & Safety regulations and IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications, whilst not absolutely necessary, would be an advantage. Practical experience of managing maintenance and refit projects within a retail, leisure or hospitality environment would also be highly desirable. The position is field based covering sites from Manchester to Peterborough and requires a candidate with a UK driving license based on the area.
